Library Facilities

As a basic literature and institutional research support system for the enduring and multifaceted development of the EMC, the Library and Documentation system was structurally conceptualized as a multi-disciplinary one capable of providing adequate information base helpful for achieving the sustainable development goals and objectives of the Centre. The fully computerized Library and documentation facility is also equipped to help in professional expertise and technical skill upgradation, training programme, comprehensive consultancy initiatives etc., encompassing all aspects of energy and energy technology, management and planning related research programmes. The also houses a number of national and international journals related to energy and sustainable development. The books and journals are classified in DDC scheme and are bar-coded. The library has laser bar code scanners and a large collection of electronic documents. There is also a comprehensive online search facility from other LAN terminals. EMC Library is now open for reference to Engineers, Scientists and Faculty/Students of Educational /Research Institutions.

How to become a member
Submit the application form along with the certified copy of an identity document and membership fee, which may be paid by cash or DD in favour of Director, Energy Management Centre, Payable at Thiruvananthapuram

Fee structure (for Reference)
Individuals Rs. 250/- per year
Institutions Rs.1000/- per year (2 cards)

Those who want to takeout the books form the centre should deposit an amount of Rs.5000/- (which will be reimbursed on termination of membership)

Library Hours
11 am – 1 pm & 2.30 pm – 4.30 pm
(Prior intimation before visiting would be highly appreciated.)

Photocopy Facility
Selected documents can be photocopied (subject to copyright regulations) by paying the prescribed charges.
